Yudh Samman Yojana 2024: The Government of India has started with the Yudh Samman Yojana lately to honour the bravery of our forgotten heroes of the 1965 and 1971 wars. The brave soldiers who participated in these wars and sacrificed for the mother nation are totally the reasons why we live peacefully. So, to pay tribute to these soldiers, the Indian Government has started with this new scheme.

Yudh Samman Yojana: Eligibility Criteria

Ex-servicemen who wish to benefit from the Yudh Samman Yojana should accomplish the necessary eligibility criteria. 

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India
  • The Indian citizen should have participated in the wars of 1965 and 1971

Eligible soldiers should apply for the scheme after which they will benefit from the announced financial support at the earliest. 

Benefit of Yudh Samman Yojana

The soldiers who have been a part of the 1965 and 1971 wars will benefit from this scheme. According to this scheme, the soldiers will get a lumpsum amount of Rs. 15 lakhs. Using this amount, the soldier can either start a business after retirement or use it to establish financial support for the family. If the soldier has died in the war or after the war, the financial support will be extended to the immediate family members of the eligible soldier. 

Yudh Samman Yojana Application Process 2024

The application for the Yudh Samman Yojana will be offline. Here is the process that you can follow to apply for the scheme. 

Step – 1 – Visit the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare Office at RK Puram, New Delhi

Step – 2 – Ask for the Yudh Samman Yojana application for which you may have to show your ID card

Step – 3 – Now fill up the form with the necessary details 

Step – 4 – Paste the passport-sized photo at the right place and put in your signature

Step – 5 – Attach the scanned and attested copies of all the necessary document

Step – 6 – Finally, submit the application form along with the documents to the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare Office. 

Required Documents for Yudh Samman Yojana

To apply for the scheme, the soldiers should also have proper documents to submit along with the application form. Here are the documents that you must submit along with the application form. 

  • Soldier ID Card
  • Canteen Card
  • Aadhar Card
  • Bank Account Statement
  • PAN Card
  • Passport size Photograph
  • Mobile Number and Email Registered with the Bank and Aadhar Card

The country will always stay obliged to what the soldiers have contributed during the wars against external forces. However, the Government of India has come up with a brilliant scheme to extend a certain amount of gratitude to the soldiers who participated in the 1965 and 1971 wars in terms of financial support through the Yudh Samman Yojana.

  1. My father was working in Western Railway in Asstt.Security Office /Railway Protection Force,Ajmer and participated in Bharat Pakistan war in 1971 through territorial army.He expired on 4th Sept. 1979.
    I have no any document because he expired in 1979.
    His particular are as under.
    Name. Shri Vachas Pati Sharma
    Father’s name. Shri Budh Dev Sharma

    My mother expired in Jan. 2024 and I am legal heir of my late father.
    please sanction Yudh Samman yojana’s amount in my favour.

  2. it is unfortunate that the kendriya Sainik Board,Directorates of Sainik Welfare of A.P.anf Telangana State,Zilla Sainik Welfare Offices have not informed any ex-veterans about this one time payment of Rs.15 lakhs to the veterans of 1965 and 1971.K P Abhi Ram,Chairman Jai Hind War Veterans Front.

  3. The Yodh Samman Yojana is a very thoughtful and kind gesture by the Government of India.My husband participated in the 1971 war at Jaisalmer and received the Samar Seva Medal and I am proud of him.

  5. my father is a BSF and he got samar seva star and poorvi star. He got that medal during his service. till now he is alive today. Does BSF had the chance I yudh samman yojana ?

  6. About YSJ is only for Eco and Sco then why it is called 1971 war medal veterans.Simply say goi helping scheme for them. All 1965& 1971 wars veterans irrespective of all ranks and no disparity to grand YSJ.

    मेरे पिता जी श्री कहर सिँह कवर मगर 1965 1971 युध्द में भाग लिए थे उनके पास समर स्टार, पञ्चमी स्टार मेडल है लेकिन उन्हें अभी तक कोई पेन्सन नहीं मिला है पिता जी अपने पेन्सन के लिए बहुत बार पत्र भारत सरकार न्यू दिल्ली में पत्र भेजी गई है अभितक कोई सुनवाई नहीं हुई ।

Mere pitaji ne bhi yuddh lada hai 1971 me unke pass bhi paschim star hai sangram medal hai samar seva medal hai or we bhi hai aaj bhi waise hee kadak fauji hai jawan me to gya tha sainik karyalaya lekin unhone mana kar diya bole ye sirf yojna unke liye hai jinko dena ne sirf ladai ke liye bharti kiya or bole agar jo army man regularly hai unke baare me abhi koi aisa later nahin ayaa aata hai to unahe bhi ye samman rashi milegi
