PM Vishwakarma Yojana will help the artisans and similar individuals in the country. Shri Narendra Modi, the honorable Prime Minister of India took this initiative to support the artisans and craftsmen of India. This scheme will raise a helping hand to the small, medium, and micro industries of the country. The scheme will offer both financial as well as holistic benefits to the registered candidates. A conjoined team of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the Department of Financial Services, and the Ministry of Finance have come up to work towards the fulfillment of this scheme. 

Vishwakarma in India refers to the artisans and craftsman category of the society such as carpenters, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, painters, and many more. This scheme will offer financial support as well as other support such as market linkage, skill training, and others. The scheme was started on 17th September 2023, on Vishwakarma Puja, and has a plan to last till 2027-28, a period of 5 years.

  • Categorizing artisans and craftsmen of the country under Vishwakarma and enhancing and recognition.
  • Honing the skills of these individuals and helping them gain better opportunities.

  • Motivating the candidates toward digital transactions by offering them incentives on each digital transaction. 
  • Creating a platform for brand promotion that will help in better market linkages. 

Scheme Benefits

The scheme offers several benefits to eligible candidates throughout the country.

  • Registration to the scheme will offer recognition under the Vishwakarma community through an ID card and certificate.
  • Basic skill training of 40 hours for all and advanced training of 120 hours for the interested candidates, with a stipend of Rs. 500 per day. 
  • A grant of Rs. 15,000 as a toolkit incentive
  • Credit supports like collateral-free loans or concessional rates of interest depending upon the loan amount. 
  • Rs. 1 incentive for every digital transaction up to a maximum transaction of 100 per month. 
  • The National Committee for Marketing will extend support to the registered candidates in the form of Quality Certification, Promotion, e-commerce linkage, Publicity, Trade Fair Advertising, and many more. 

Eligibility Criteria of the Scheme

The scheme benefits will be limited only to those candidates who match the following eligibility criteria. 

  • The applicant should be either self-employed or must be a part of an unorganized sector. 
  • The scheme will benefit candidates who are a part of the 18 family-based traditional trades that come under the Vishwakarma community. 
  • The applicant should be a minimum of 18 years on the date of registration. 
  • The scheme is not for those who have already availed of loans under any other credit-based schemes launched by the Government of India such as Mudra, PMEGP, or PM SVANidhi in the past 5 years. 
  • Only one member of the family can avail the benefits of this scheme. 
  • Government employees or their immediate family members will not be eligible for this scheme. 

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Registration Process 2024

The eligible candidates must first register on the official portal through CSCs. Here is the method to complete the registration process. 

Step -1 – Go to the official portal through https://pmvishwakarma.gov.in/ and click on Login.

Step – 2 – Under the Login option, click on SCS-Register Artisans.

Step – 3 – On the Registration page, answer all the questions and Continue. 

Step – 4 – On the Aadhar Verification Page, enter your registered mobile number to get OTP and continue with the verification process. 

After you have verified your Aadhar, your registration is complete. 

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Online Apply Process 2024

Once you have registered on the official portal, it is time to proceed with your application process with these steps. 

Step – 1 – For the offline application process, you must visit your nearest CSC to complete your Biometric Verification process. 

Step – 2 – In the online application process, login with your details fill up the necessary details, and submit it. 

Step – 3 – Note down the application number for future reference.

Whether you have applied offline or online, the verification will be conducted at the ULB Level or Gram Panchayat. Applications that will be recommended by the District Implementation Committee will proceed to the next steps. Finally, the Screening Committee will offer the approved candidates of beneficiaries who will avail of the scheme benefits. 

After the verification is complete, the applicants will finally get registered under the scheme. These selected artisans will get a PM Vishwakarma Digital ID Card along with a Certificate. Both of these will help the candidates to get the benefits of the scheme. 

Documents Required for PM Vishwakarma Yojana

Eligible candidates who wish to register under this scheme should have the necessary documents for the process. The applicants must get a scanned copy of these documents to apply for the scheme.

In case the candidate does not have a ration card, then the person must produce an Aadhar Card for all the members of the family.
